Bridal Shoot June 2008, Flint MI

So yes, the rumor is true. I made a dress for my sister's Barbie doll out of toilet paper when I was about 5 years old. She had this little mini skirt dress with a tube top type of top and then this long train from her skirt. She also had a half and half veil...a waist length top portion with a detachable cathedral length bottom portion. I think we still have her somewhere (at my mom's of course). Oh and yes, you're probably wondering what I used to hold it all together with....well, I used clear scotch tape to hold this beautiful ensamble together of course, and it worked great! ;) Oh how I loved to dream about my wedding day!!! Then I dreamed of planning other couples' wedding days, and now I get to capture them in all their sacredness and beauty through my lens (okay lenses really)!!! Everything wedding is just so beautiful to me. I can sit in an aisle at the grocery and look through wedding magazines with just as much zeal and sparkle in my eye as I did growing up and eventually (actually) needing them to help plan my own wedding.
Now, here are these lovely models...you probably notice we are in an urban type setting (yipeee!) and that they are not the least bit concerned about getting their dresses dirty. I wouldn't say we were "trashing the dresses"...we were more (like my friend S likes to say) "rockin' those dresses!!".....most young women on their wedding day want to keep their dresses as pristine as possible....and then the day goes by, the clock strikes midnight, the day is over, and they get to put the dress away (maybe in a big tupperware plastic bin like I did :((((
Well, did you know you can schedule a photo session with me to rock your dress after the wedding is all said and done with??!You can pull that thing out of storage, dust off your weddings shoes, and meet me in some beautiful and fun places (with or without your hubby) for the session you never had time for on your actual wedding day.
If you are interested in this type of session, please contact me soon!! I shoot these sessions May - October only so we can get outside and enjoy the beauty all around us!!! More SDG Photography By Rosie Siebenthal surprises (other than awesome sneak peeks that is!) coming soon!! Thank you all and have a great night! Love, ~R..........;)

C.U.T.I.E.(S.)

Here is one of the models that I had the pleasure of photographing at my workshop in Flint, MI this past June (wow, that has come and gone so quickly already!). What a cutie little girl. Just look at those sweet dimples!! She truly was a sweet little one!

And here a some of other handsome and beautiful kids I got to photograph :)

Lot's of serious faces I know!! I think they were all so well-behaved considering there were about 15 of us rotating and photographing all of them for that session :) Well, that's it for now - next up - beautiful bridals (a couple more to add on to the ones I posted a little while ago :)......see you soon! Love, ~R........:)

Boy: A noise with.....

sugar on it?! At least in this case it was! Took some time to shoot for myself tonight....(yipee!!) B will be 2 in two weeks from today (okay it's already tomorrow but you know what I mean :) and C is already 4!! I thought I would play with two from the little "session" I had with my two favorite little boys in the whole widest worldest and then put them in line with the rest of the sessions I am currently working on ;). They gave these big suckers about a half an hour and then they came in saying (because B says and does EVERYTHING C does ;) "Mommy, I'm full!! I'm done"....R had asked me when I got these how much a kid could possibly eat when eating one of these...well after washing the grass off of one of them once and a good half hour of pure enjoyment for both boys- they um...pretty much looked the same. (Ha!) So....answer? Not much but that's alright - they sure had fun!!
Hope everyone's having a great weekend so far!! I'll see you back here soon!! Love, ~R........;)

In the perfect place at the perfect moment....

Words cannot describe the way my heart and soul feel when I look at this image. Truly I was simply in the perfect place at the perfect time....Little J...you are such a precious gift. The neatest thing is that I JUST got her release in the mail from mom and they are going to be here in SIX minutes to see their slideshow - I am about to burst with anxiousness for them!!!
A little bit about this image. Little J has the finest hair (as in baby fine) and it was super clean and there was a major breeze for most of the morning. Her hair spent a lot of time in her poor little eyes for most of the morning, however, there were pockets of time...little gifts to me as the photographer and soon to her mommy and daddy where the wind just picked it up and she was stunning...here is one of those moments. This moment will never happen again...and it is kept now forever in this portrait..this work of art. Goodness I love my "job".
Blessings to you today!! L yours is coming up tonight!! :) Love, ~R...........:)

Absolutely, positively hands down

one of my favorites from this session!! Meet Mr. A - he just graduated (well in May I guess) from high school and is on his way to college - wahoo!! Congrats A and best wishes for a successful college career!! I had a lot of fun at our session - it was so worth it to climb up here and shoot these!! (Even though it was a pretty steep slope and I had to sit and slide down on the way back to our cars so as not to break my neck...or my camera really - it was really all about the camera, really. No really!! ;) Nothing like a little adventure to make a photographer feel all National Geographic ya know? Or not. Haha. Okay, you got me. We were in Princeville....but hey, a photog can have a little fun - right??!?!)
-
Well everyone, that marks the end of my sneak peek mania for this weekend at least. Miss L you are up next!! Stay tuned and check back on Monday I will have at least one more for you then! :) Stay cool (I have had the air on 74 degrees so "my computers will run right" hee hee hee!) and have a great rest of the weekend everyone!! Love, ~R............;)

Anybody recognize these beautiful people???

You know I just have to smile and Praise God when I see two people like Pastor R and his lovely and beautiful wife, K, looking at each other like that. They are obviously so in love...and think so highly of one another. K is one of the most beautiful women I know...and not just outwardly. She is kind, joyful, generous in her time when I have needed advice on mothering, and it is so obvious she loves the Lord. She radiates the beauty of the Lord in her life and it is apparent every time she enters a room! It has been a joy to witness Pastor R around his family also. Seeing him in certain places (like at the pulpit or in his office) where he plays a certain role in the community and within our church family is one (great) thing....seeing him interact with his boys and with his lovely wife is another...yet they completely compliment and reinforce each other. It is such a complete blessing to know this family, to be a part of the work that God is doing in our church family and community through them, and also to witness God's love in their life as a family. B family - thank you for allowing me to capture you through my lens! It was completely my pleasure and an honor to do so! Love and blessings!! ~R.........:)
-
P.S. YES!! In case you were wondering, now you have a face with the name ;) This is the same Pastor Ritch that gave the sermon on glorifying God with our lives. I got the idea for SDG Photography By Rosie Siebenthal from that sermon. For more info read "What's in a name" on the right side of the blog :)

My ovaries just called.....

they want to know if this precious little baby girl can come live with us instead of at her house. Need I say more? :) Here is little A....Be still my heart. "My dear goodness" as my good friend S says (hi S!), mercy sakes alive as the "Convoy" song says.....I just. can't. handle. the. cuteness. Just look at the second one and those fingers. I mean oh my.......
-
Okay, please forgive me for that, I just completely lost myself in little A's adorableness!! I posted this earlier today and all that was inside...it just wasn't ready to show itself yet, so there you have it, my plea (in disguise) for her mommy and daddy to drop her off here for a little while (like a year) so I can enjoy some girliness in this house full of boys (that I love by the way, but sheesh, sometimes I just want to play with a Barbie doll!! :) A and A thank you so much for bringing your baby girl to me, she is an absolute doll. :)
-
Also, to all of you waiting for sneak peek mania!! Oops! Please forgive me!! Sorry about not about posting again last night! Falling asleep at my key board was a pretty good indicator that I should just give up and go to bed. More to come, more to come :) Hope you are having a fabulous day! Love, ~R.........:)

Beautiful H....

See I need to post more!! Just LOOK at all this gorgeous little girl!! Here is beautiful little H again ;) She was a winner in the little beauties contest and then her mommy brought her back again three weeks later!! We had such a great time running around and playing tag....she sure is a special little girl. Thank you again T for bringing her over - I had some much needed girl time with you two! :)

Okay, hang on to your hats because tonight is sneak peek mania. I can't believe it's Friday already...all my sneak peeks have been DYING to get posted!! R was out of town so needless to say I didn't get much in terms extra-curricular activities (blog posting) done as I wanted to!! :( No worries though - he's back tonight so we're good to go!! I'll see you back here in a little bit!!!

Love, ~R..........:)
